Entrepreneurs spot new opportunities - discover how

Monday 16 May, 2011

The English definition: a person who is willing to launch a new venture or enterprise and accept full responsibility for the outcome.

Entrepreneurs spot opportunities, imagine new solutions, generate interest, and sell the solution for profit / reward.  There are 3 categories of entrepreneur:

Research by Robert R. Reich (former US Secretary of Labour) identified the following attributes as essential for successful Entrepreneurs:

      Leadership

      Management

      Team building

Q: What is it that enables entrepreneurs to recover from setbacks? Is it the fact that they accept full responsibility for the outcome and this acts as a driver? One thing I have noticed is that every entrepreneur that I have met has a very positive mindset! Why not try the VELTEN Mood Induction Statements (Positive) and give your own mindset a boost during the stresses of the day.

Velten Mood Induction uses Elation (Positive) Mood Statements. Starting from neutral statements, it builds up positive feelings by using more positive statements as you go on.  It is used by psychologist, during research, to help subjects attain the desired mood being studied (it also comes in Negative mood statement form - I don't suggest you try that one).

Velten's mood induction technique is a form of guided meditation but where it differs from mantras, and other shorter forms of positive affirmation, is in the gradual build up of the statements and the sense of progression they provide.

I'm not sure how long the effect is supposed to last, but with practice and repetition it should be possible to produce a more enduring effect and induce it more quickly. It can also be enhanced by visualising actual scenarios for each statement - this approach does require much more time though as there are 58 statements.  However, if you're having an off day the simple exercise of reading through the statements really helps to adjust your mindset.
